About Ellie& Cakes, aka Me.
I love baking, full stop.
"Ellie&" is a clever rearrangement of my name - Danielle, it's also the reality of a long standing dream to have a cake business to work with family life.
I am Taranaki born and bred, I grew up watching a mother who decorated a lot of cakes for a lot of family friends - me always at her elbow hoping her piped roses would have more failures than they ever did (because I got to eat the ones she deemed ugly).
Starting a cake business has been one of those dreams I always thought would eventuate, and now it has - I couldn't be more excited to be on this journey!
I don't think I have a favourite flavour cake, I'm a sucker for Lemon, or Chocolate, or Carrot, or Raspberry..... (Salted Caramel, Vanilla, White Chocolate.....).
I have experience with multiple cake mediums, and have completed various courses around the country. I love to teach classes to build confidence in others to deliver a cake that is simple but impressive and sure to wow at any family gathering!
I am a very proud Mum to three children, all growing far too fast. My soon to be husband is very accustomed to taste testing my new recipes and frostings (he's very much becoming the cake snob - he's a keeper!)
